About
This course provides students with the fundamental knowledge and hands-on skills needed for careers in industrial maintenance and mechatronics. Emphasis is placed on understanding and troubleshooting the mechanical, electrical, and control systems commonly used in modern manufacturing and industrial environments. Topics include safety practices, mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics, electrical circuits, motor controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, sensors, and automation systems.
Through a combination of classroom instruction and lab-based training, students will learn to install, maintain, and repair complex mechatronic systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and computerized technologies. Upon completion, students will be prepared to apply problem-solving techniques, use test equipment, read schematics and technical manuals, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance in real-world industrial settings.
