The Manicuring Program prepares students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for entry-level employment in the nail industry and preparation for Tennessee licensure. Classroom instruction and hands-on learning experiences are integrated throughout the program and include manicuring and pedicuring services, nail care, artificial nail enhancements, nail artistry, massage techniques, product knowledge and chemistry, infection control, safety, salon management, and professional practices.
Safety, sanitation, client relations, and professionalism are emphasized throughout the program. Upon successful completion of the required 600 clock hours, students are prepared to pursue applicable Tennessee licensure examinations, subject to the requirements of the Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners.
