About
The Patient Care Technician program is designed
to provide students with a thorough understanding
and skill ability to provide safe patient care in a
variety of healthcare settings. PCT is a multidisciplinary
technical assistant healthcare personnel
that is trained to provide basic nursing care
and medical skills under the supervision or direction
of a Physician, Advanced Practice Nurse,
Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
The education for this program is provided with
both theory and clinical. As a Patient Care Technician,
you may perform some or all of the following
tasks:
- Obtain EKG readings and monitor vital signs
- Perform phlebotomy procedures
